The Area Board

FCMHA is governed by a local mental health authority, the Area Board. The Board is comprised of fifteen volunteer citizens from all walks of life appointed by county commissioners from the five represented counties. The Board is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of services as well as policy making and budget control. All monthly Board meetings are operated under the North Carolina Open Meetings Law. Meetings are held eight times a year.
